Finally a cooking success!

Emma's first real day of preschool was this morning. She was so excited leaving the house this morning!
I had high hopes about the day until Carlos texted me, "Now I know why you wanted me to take her." ugh. Hopefully I get a report that she had a good day. Carlos said he waited and watched, and she only cried for 3 minutes. But I will need to take her tomorrow I think, so I am SOO not looking forward to that. I will update later about how the day went. This morning we made good use of our little market! We needed to get some cheese for the potato bake that Johana is making for lunch! We also needed diaper wipes, and I didn't want Carlos to have to stop at the store after work. On a very bright note, I made a food creation that actually succeeded today!!! A little background- I am VERY picky about chunks in my sauces. Pasta sauce is no exception. My favorite at home is Larosa's since it doesn't have onion or tomato chunks. They have Ragu here, but it is a little chunky for my liking so today my goal was to make tomato sauce out of the tomato paste that we have. I looked online for ideas of how to do it, but it was not very helpful. Everyone who answered the online questions said the same thing, "my question is why would you want to make tomato sauce out of paste? use tomato chunks instead!" I did read somewhere that you should use about twice the amount of water as paste. I tried it using the starchy water from the pasta, and it turned out beautifully! I was nervous at first, but then I tasted it, and I was so pleasantly surprised! YAY!! Finally a cooking success! After we accomplished that, Charlie got his paws on an orange and tried to eat it, rind and all. We got him in his chair, and Johana cut the orange up so he could eat it. He (kind of) liked it, but it was a little sour :)
